Doctor Visit Update

On Tuesday, Jeremy and I went to the doctor's office for our first visit. Our appointment was for 11:30, and we got there on time. I filled out all the essential paperwork. We waited for a long time to go back, well it seemed like an eternity because I had to pee and I knew I would have to pee in a cup. Finally, we go back and I get weighed and use the restroom. The nurse takes me back to the room and she takes my vitals, and then we wait and wait and wait……

Finally the doctor comes in. This is the first time I've met her, and Jeremy as well. She is really quiet and doesn't really talk much. She asked me some history questions and then did my exam and said, "well, congratulations" She asked me if I had any questions, and I did not. She said she would have my blood drawn and then they would call me in the next few days with the results so we can schedule a day for our first ultrasound. That date would be determined by my hormone levels.

We went back, the lab lady drew my blood and we were almost out of there. The nurse handed me a little bag of goodies, that had pre-natal vitamin samples, magazines and special offers in it.

We left the office and went to grab a quick bite to eat. Over lunch, Jeremy and I talked about when we were going to tell our family. My mom already knew, so it was a matter of telling our dads, siblings, his mom, and extended family. We decided that we would call and tell his dad because we told him he would be the 2nd to know. Once we got out of the restaurant, I dialed Larry's number. He answered the phone and I said, "Can I please speak to Grandma Mason" and he said, "Speaking" That's when we told him we were expecting and he would be a grandpa. He was really excited. After that I called my grandma, dad, Jeremy's family and all our siblings. By the end of the day we had told pretty much our entire family. Everyone was so excited for us.

Some of the reactions were priceless, and I wish I could have told them in person. I told Ashleigh and she screamed, and said that she just scared all the people on the light rail. I told Adam that he was going to be an uncle and he said, "that's so cool"! and Austin said, "Are you serious" and Jamie screamed with excitement. Telling our family has been really exciting.

We are looking forward to the next 35 ½ weeks and I hope that they don't go by too quickly.
