Today I am 9 weeks and 3 days. Time is passing quickly. It seems like yesterday I just found out I was pregnant.
Monday I saw my new doctor. I love her! I am so glad I decided to switch. She was very informative and answered all my questions. I had lots of questions. My biggest fear is having to have a c-section due to the doctors inability to let things progress naturally. So I asked her what her take on c-sections was and she said that they only do one if the baby is in danger or there is some other complication that puts either life at risk. It was reassuring, as I don't want to have to have a c-section. She also told me that I am very healthy, and since I don't have any health problems, she expected a pretty healthy pregnancy.
They also told me that starting at 11 weeks, they listen to the heartbeat every visit. Oh, and I go every 4 weeks until so many weeks, then I start going every 2 weeks, then every week. Sounds so exciting!
We have our first ultrasound in 3 weeks - seems to far away.
There are a few things we need to get done and start thinking about:
1. Daycare - calling around and putting our name on a waiting list for daycares and then scheduling a tour and ruling out ones that we don't want to go to
2. Finding a pediatrician - interviewing and deciding which ones are accepting new patients and who we would like to use.
3. Re-arranging the rooms - making the guest room the babys room and the scrapbooking room the guest room. We will probably start to do more of this when we know the baby's gender so we can paint and get things set up.
That's all I can think of for now - I'm sure I'll think of more later.
So as far as how I'm feeling, I'm feeling okay. Still have bouts of nausea, but mostly at night. I haven't had any particular cravings yet, but I've tried eating Italian food a few times (my favorite) and it now doesn't appeal to me at all. I did eat a jar of pickles in 2 days - I couldn't resist them, they tasted sooooo good!
I'll post some pics soon - mabye ;-)
Oh man, the pickles thing will always have mom saying something! Try putting them on a peanut butter sandwich and tell me how that goes :p
